Broadlake are a Dublin-based private equity firm, founded in 2009. With an international portfolio of seven businesses collectively employing more than 4000 people, they work with ambitious founders to help realise their business potential in a socially responsible way.

The brief

Broadlake needed to gain a consistent understanding of employee engagement across its diverse group of companies for the first time. With their custom performance management tool, 'The Realiser,' and the 'H.A.V.E.' positive impact charter in place, the goal was to establish benchmark metrics at the group level while also delivering meaningful, relevant insights for each individual company.

The solution

Broadlake’s HR and Impact teams worked closely with Audiem to design, collect and analyse an inaugural annual people survey. The bespoke survey balanced agreement scale questions with multiple opportunities to provide detailed comments.

Quantitative data including eNPS (Employee NetPromoter Score) and bespoke metrics provided at-a-glance performance insights. Then, moving beyond surface-level patterns, Audiem’s AI provided deep insights into the qualitative text data, surfacing key successes and opportunities for improvement at both individual company and group levels.

The result

The people survey, launched to all employees using The Realiser, achieved an impressive 89% completion rate. Additionally, 88% of respondents provided comments, with an average of six insights per person, resulting in a rich dataset full of sentiment, suggestions, and diverse perspectives.

Broadlake also engaged Audiem's 'pro services' to organise and lead discovery sessions with the leadership teams of each company. These online sessions utilised Audiem's dashboard to explore strengths, opportunities, and data patterns, equipping each company with actionable insights for driving change.

"Working with Audiem has given us an unprecedented level of insight into our people across the entire Broadlake group. For the first time, we have a clear, data-driven view of engagement, sentiment, and opportunities for growth and focus at both group and individual company levels. The combination ofAI-powered analysis and human expertise has enabled us to move beyond assumptions and take meaningful action, ensuring our teams feel heard and supported. This has been a game-changer for how we drive culture, performance, and impact across our businesses. Most importantly, it has been a pleasure to work with the Audiem team who will continue to partner with us on a multi-year basis to drive comparative data-driven incremental wins."
